Master’s Degree (in areas related to Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science) from a Greek University or from a recognized (by the National Academic Recognition Information Center) foreign institution of equivalent status or from a Technological Education Institute, according to the Law 2916/2001 and good knowledge of the English language.

Submission of Applications
Applications for the Ph.D. programme are submitted twice per year (December and June). The exact dates are announced in the Programme’s web site, in the web site of University of Macedonia and in local press.


  • Application Form
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Official copy of the Bachelor and Master’s Degree(s) obtained
  • Official copy of the transcripts (with the exact Grade Point Average)
  • Official proof of English language competence (certificates, diplomas etc.). TOEFL results should be sent directly to the secretary of the Programme – the code for University of Macedonia is 7006.
  • Two academic letters of reference
  • Scientific publications, awards etc.
  • Official proof of professional-working experience
  • Official copy of personal ID Card.

All applications are examined and evaluated by the Interdepartmental Committee of the Programme. In the first stage of the evaluation procedure, Committee examines the completeness of each application and decides if the applicants fulfills all the requirements for the Ph.D. programme. The Committee can ask from the applicants to follow taught courses of the M.Sc. Programme or to conduct an independent study in thematic areas suggested by the supervisor of each Ph.D. Thesis.
